During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kalamazoo College’s decision-making process has been science-based and informed by our local health department, state government and the Centers for Disease Control. Based on the evidence of how this virus spreads and the patterns identified in other communities, it is with an abundance of caution that Kalamazoo College has decided to close the campus to all students and transition their courses towards “distant learning” for the Spring Term 2020. The health and safety of all members of our community and their loved ones must be paramount. We have decided to suspend our co-curricular programming until the campus reopens.
The COVID-19 pandemic reminds us that we are one. Our humanity is global, and so must be our response. We must think of each other as well as ourselves. We encourage you to be open to the changes we must now all adopt, stay healthy, and be mindful of the safety of others. We thank all our students and community partners for the work they do and look forward to continuing the work we do together in the future.
In the meantime, the CCE staff will be working remotely and look forward to work on dream projects that will enhance the work we do in supporting our K students and partnerships. Do not hesitate to reach out to the CCE Staff during this time with any questions or concerns you may have.
